The number of people participating in this year’s Hajj will return to pre-pandemic levels
Priority will be given to individuals who have never performed Hajj.
Applicants are also required to adhere to the ongoing COVID-19 immunisation policies, must receive the required seasonal flu vaccinations and hold a vaccine certification for meningitis at least 10 days prior to departing for Hajj.
The number of people participating in this year’s Hajj, Hajj 2023 will return to pre-pandemic levels, Saudi Arabia’s minister of Hajj and Umrah said on Monday.
Speaking at the Hajj Expo 2023 taking place in Jeddah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said there would also be no age restrictions during this year’s Hajj.
In 2019, about 2.5 million people took part in the pilgrimage. For the next two years, numbers were drastically curtailed to limit the spread of COVID-19 during the pandemic.
Nusuk Hajj
Domestic pilgrims can also request Hajj 2023 domestic online applications through the Nusuk app, as well as through the official Nusuk website.
The ministry announced last week that it had opened registration for Hajj in 2023 for pilgrims residing in kingdom, with the price of packages beginning at 3,984 riyals ($1,062).
Domestic pilgrims have the option of paying the Hajj package costs in three instalments, instead of paying the full amount in one go, as was the case in previous years.
