What is the Harvard islamic finance program?

The Harvard Islamic Finance Program (HIFP) is an initiative that aims to promote the academic study and research of Islamic finance and economics. It was established in 1995 by a group of Harvard faculty members from different disciplines, such as law, economics, business, and Islamic studies. The HIFP has three main objectives:

  • To provide a platform for scholars, researchers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas and information about Islamic finance and economics.
  • To compile and disseminate specialized bibliographies, databases, publications, and other resources on Islamic finance and economics.
  • To foster dialogue and understanding among different stakeholders, such as academics, practitioners, regulators, and policymakers.
