I seek refuge in Allah in Arabic
The phrase “I seek refuge in Allah” in Arabic is written as
“أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ”
- Transliteration: A’udhu billah
- Meaning : I seek refuge in Allah
أَعُوذُ means I seek refuge

بِاللهِ means in Allah
Audhu Billah is also called Isti’adha
الاستعاذة (al-isti’adha) means to say: أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم (audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ar-rajeem) “I seek protection with Allah from Shaytan the cursed”.
Full Phrase of Audhu billah:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
A`ūdhu billāhi minash-Shayṭānir-rajīm.
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast.
Audhu billah before going to toilet:
اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أَعـوذُ بِـكَ مِـنَ الْخُـبْثِ وَالْخَبائِث
Allāhumma ‘innī ‘a`ūdhu bika minal-khubthi walkhabā’ith.[In the Name of Allah].
O Allah, I seek protection in You from evil and the evil ones (or, from the evil male and female Jinn).
