Austrian wrestler, Wilhelm Ott, has pronounced the shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) while observing social distancing at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wilhelm Ott is a professional MMA fighter from Austria. He has been professionally boxing since 2008 and is nicknamed “The Amazing”. On April 16th he announced that he has converted to Islam.
In a video widely shared on social media, Ott said he embraced Islam after a long thought and research.
He added that the period of isolation caused by the coronavirus provided him a lot of time to read more about Islam. Then after a thorough research, he reached a decision and announced his conversion to Islam.
