Day 32 – Reflecting on Allah’s Names: Al-Hadi, Al-Badi, Al-Baqi
These three names that remind us of Allah’s perfect guidance, His unmatched creativity, and His eternal existence.
- Al-Hadi (ٱلْهَادِي) – The Ultimate Guide
- Al-Badi (ٱلْبَدِيعُ) – The Incomparable Originator
- Al-Baqi (ٱلْبَاقِي) – The Ever-Surviving One
These names bring comfort to the heart, assuring us that Allah’s guidance is always available, that He alone creates without precedent, and that while everything in this world fades, He remains eternal.

Al-Hadi (ٱلْهَادِي) – The Ultimate Guide
The name Al-Hadi comes from the root “h-d-y” (ه د ي), which means to guide, to lead toward what is right, and to grant clarity. Allah is the one who guides hearts, showing the way to truth, success, and salvation.
“Indeed, you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills…”
(Surah Al-Qasas 28:56)
How often do we feel lost—uncertain about the choices we make, unsure of the path ahead? Al-Hadi is the one who illuminates our way. Whether it’s through the Quran, a sincere dua, or a lesson hidden in life’s trials, Allah’s guidance is always there, waiting for us to seek it.
Reflection:
- Do we sincerely ask Allah for guidance in our daily affairs?
- How can we become a source of guidance for others, reflecting this name in our actions?
Al-Badi (ٱلْبَدِيعُ) – The Incomparable Originator
The name Al-Badi comes from the root “b-d-‘” (ب د ع), which means to create something uniquely, without any model or predecessor. Allah creates in ways beyond our imagination—He brought the universe into existence from nothing.
“The Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:117)
When we reflect on nature—the sky’s vastness, the ocean’s depths, the intricate beauty of a single flower—we see the signature of Al-Badi. Every creation, from the stars in the galaxies to the fingerprints on our hands, is a testament to Allah’s unique craftsmanship.
Reflection:
- Do we take time to marvel at Allah’s creation and recognize His greatness?
- How can we appreciate and reflect this name by being creative in ways that benefit others?
Al-Baqi (ٱلْبَاقِي) – The Ever-Surviving One
The name Al-Baqi comes from the root “b-q-y” (ب ق ي), which means to remain, to be everlasting, and to be beyond the limits of time. Everything in this world is temporary—wealth, status, even life itself—but Allah alone remains eternal.
“Everyone upon it [the earth] will perish, and there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.”
(Surah Ar-Rahman 55:26-27)
No matter how much we chase after this world, it will one day slip away. But Allah’s presence, His mercy, and His love are forever. When we attach our hearts to Him, we connect with something that never fades.
Reflection:
- Do we prioritize our relationship with Allah, knowing He alone is eternal?
