What is Hisnul Muslim?

Hisnul Muslim — translated as “Fortress of the Muslim” — is one of the most beloved and widely used collections of authentic Islamic duas (supplications) and adhkar (remembrances) in the world. Compiled by Sheikh Sa’eed ibn Ali ibn Wahf Al-Qahtani, this compact but powerful booklet gathers over 200 duas directly from the Quran and authentic Sunnah, organized by the occasions and situations of daily life.
From the moment you wake up to the moment you sleep, Hisnul Muslim provides the exact words the prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) would say — covering morning and evening adhkar, duas before eating and traveling, supplications for times of distress, protection from evil, entering the mosque, and much more. It is arguably the single most important dua book every Muslim should memorize and live by.

Why Learn the Duas of Hisnul Muslim?

Dua is the essence of worship. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Dua is worship.” (Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi). When we make dua using the words taught by the Prophet (ﷺ) himself, we are not only asking Allah (SWT) for our needs — we are following the Sunnah, earning reward, and surrounding ourselves with divine protection.
The adhkar in Hisnul Muslim are not arbitrary phrases. Each one has a specific spiritual purpose, and many carry extraordinary virtues described in authentic hadith. The morning and evening adhkar, for example, are described as a “fortress” — a shield of protection around the believer throughout the day and night. Regular recitation of these duas brings peace to the heart, wards off anxiety, and strengthens one’s connection with Allah (SWT).

How to Use This Tool to Memorize Hisnul Muslim
Memorizing 268 duas may feel overwhelming, but with the right approach it becomes deeply enjoyable. Here are a few practical tips:

Start with your daily routine. Learn the waking-up dua first, then the sleeping dua, the eating dua, and the bathroom dua. These are the easiest to practice because you use them every single day.

Use the Quiz mode. Once you have read a dua a few times, switch to Quiz mode to test your recall. Active testing cements memory far faster than passive reading.

Track your progress. The tool marks each dua as learned so you can see exactly how far you have come. Aim to complete one new category per week.

Teach your family. The Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged teaching duas to children early. Use the audio feature to recite duas with your children at meal times, bedtime, and before leaving the house.

Revisit the morning and evening adhkar daily.
Even if you have not yet memorized all 268, make it a non-negotiable habit to recite the morning and evening sections every day. These carry some of the greatest rewards and protections mentioned in the Sunnah.

A Note on the Authenticity of These Duas
Every dua in this collection is drawn from Hisnul Muslim by Sheikh Sa’eed Al-Qahtani, which itself is sourced exclusively from the Quran and authentic (sahih or hasan) hadith. Unlike duas of unknown or weak origin that circulate widely on social media, the supplications in Hisnul Muslim have been verified by scholars and are widely recommended across all major schools of Islamic jurisprudence. This makes it the most trustworthy everyday dua reference for Muslims of all backgrounds.
Begin with any category above, learn at your own pace, and may Allah (SWT) accept your duas, fill your heart with tranquility, and make His remembrance the light of your day. Ameen.
