The prophet(pbuh) said these will not enter Jannah-‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ

The prophet صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said these will not enter Jannah

There are different ways to enter Jannah which has been emphasised in Quran and sunnah, Before we talk of ways to enter Jannah, I would like to write about the things we should not do. Prophet Muhammad sallalahu alaihe wa sallam said about them that ‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ”he will not enter Jannah“. This is to emphasise how sinful it is and how a good muslim should shed these bad qualities if he has them. Scholars say that this doesn’t necessarily mean that they will not enter Jannah.

Let us read 10 hadith on ‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ”these will not enter Jannah

1 “The person who severs the bond of kinship will not enter Paradise.”

 ‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَاطِعٌ

Reference:

Narrated Jubair bin Mut`im:That he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “The person who severs the bond of kinship will not enter Paradise.”(5984)

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، قَالَ إِنَّ جُبَيْرَ بْنَ مُطْعِمٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏ “‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَاطِعٌ ‏”‏‏.‏

3.A mischief-maker will not enter paradise.

 “‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَتَّاتٌ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

A mischief-maker will not enter paradise.

Hudhaifah reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying :A mischief-maker will not enter paradise. Sunan Abi Dawud 4871

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَتَّاتٌ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

4. “No one who is addicted to wine will enter Paradise.”

 لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مُدْمِنُ خَمْرٍ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Abu Darda’ that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “No one who is addicted to wine will enter Paradise.”Sunan Ibn Majah 3376

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏ “‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مُدْمِنُ خَمْرٍ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

5. A backbiter will not enter Paradise.

لَا يَدْخُلُ اَلْجَنَّةَ قَتَّاتٌ 

Hudhaifah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “A backbiter will not enter Paradise.(bulugh al maram 69)

6. Whoever disobeys Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu alaihe wa sallam

“‏ مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَقَدْ أَبَى ‏”‏‏.‏

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse.” They said, “O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! Who will refuse?” He said, “Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it).”Sahih al-Bukhari 7280

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هِلاَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏”‏ كُلُّ أُمَّتِي يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ، إِلاَّ مَنْ أَبَى ‏”‏‏.‏ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ يَأْبَى قَالَ ‏”‏ مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَقَدْ أَبَى ‏”‏‏.‏

7.No one will enter Paradise who is treacherous, miserly, reminds people of his favours or mistreats his slaves

لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ خَبٌّ وَلَا بَخِيلٌ وَلَا مَنَّانٌ وَلَا سَيِّئُ الْمَلَكَةِ وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ الْمَمْلُوكُ إِذَا أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ وَأَطَاعَ سَيِّدَهُ‏.‏

It was narrated from Farqad as-Sabakhi from Murrah at-Tayyib from Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq that the Prophet (ﷺ)said:

“No one will enter Paradise who is treacherous, miserly, reminds people of his favours or mistreats his slaves. The first to enter Paradise will be the slave, if he obeys Allah and obeys his master.`Musnad Ahmad 32

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ فَرْقَدٍ السَّبَخِيِّ، عَنْ مُرَّةَ الطَّيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ خَبٌّ وَلَا بَخِيلٌ وَلَا مَنَّانٌ وَلَا سَيِّئُ الْمَلَكَةِ وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ الْمَمْلُوكُ إِذَا أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ وَأَطَاعَ سَيِّدَهُ‏.‏

8. If anyone kills a man whom he grants protection prematurely

 “‏ مَنْ قَتَلَ مُعَاهِدًا فِي غَيْرِ كُنْهِهِ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

Narrated AbuBakrah:The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone kills a man whom he grants protection prematurely, Allah will forbid him to enter Paradise.Sunan Abi Dawud 2760

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ عُيَيْنَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ مَنْ قَتَلَ مُعَاهِدًا فِي غَيْرِ كُنْهِهِ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

9. One who is not a Muslim will not enter paradise

Narrated Mu’adh bin Jabal : The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone’s last words are “There is no god but Allah” he will enter Paradise.Sunan Abi Dawud 3116

حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرِيبٍ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ مَنْ كَانَ آخِرُ كَلاَمِهِ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

10.He will not enter Paradise whose neighbour is not secure from his wrongful conduct.

لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ لاَ يَأْمَنُ جَارُهُ بَوَائِقَهُ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessing be upon him) observed:He will not enter Paradise whose neighbour is not secure from his wrongful conduct.Sahih Muslim 46

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، – قَالَ ابْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، – قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلاَءُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ “‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ لاَ يَأْمَنُ جَارُهُ بَوَائِقَهُ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

10. “The one who treats his slaves badly will not enter jannah

“‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ سَيِّئُ الْمَلَكَةِ ‏”

Reference:”Abu Bakr As-Siddiq narrated that the Messenger of Allah said : “The one who treats his slaves badly will not enter paradise.” Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1946

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ “‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ سَيِّئُ الْمَلَكَةِ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ أَيُّوبُ السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ فِي فَرْقَدٍ السَّبَخِيِّ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ ‏.‏
