Shabe Miraj in the light of Modern science

Have you heard of the story of Shabe Miraj ?

Shabe Miraj is the story of Prophet Muhammad sallalahu alaihe wa sallam.

Shabe Meraj is a story of how prophet Muhammad  sallalahu alaihe wa sallam’s heart was purified by the archangel Gabriel Alaihe Salam, who filled him with knowledge and faith and prepared him to enter the seven levels of heaven. The story of Shabe meraj is a true incident and is also called al-’Isrā’ wal-Mi‘rāj.

What is Isra and what is Miraj?

The Isra part of the journey is Prophet Muhammad sallalahu alaihe wa sallam’s journey to “the farthest mosque” where he lead other prophets in prayer. And Mi’raj is the journey when he ascended to heaven and spoke to Allah (swt).

Some People doubt If the journey really did happen. Indeed Isra wal Meraj was one of the miracle of our dear prophet and it is evident from Quran and hadith.

When Our dear Prophet-Prophet Muhammad ( SAW ) informed people of this journey, they called him liar and laughed at him. Science was not developed at that time and people didn’t had the insight and knowledge to understand these things. But with the advancement of Science, we can study Quran and science simultaneously.

When did isra and miraj happen?

 The date was 27th of Rajab in the year 721 (Sad year – ‘aam ul-huzn) when Abu Talib and Khadijah (RA) died.

Definitely Quran and hadith do not need any scientific explanation for we muslims .We believe in every word of God. Science is just a baby which has lots to learn and discover but sometimes it becomes essential to explain some occurrences with science to the people who do not believe or who doubt. Here is an attempt to study science with Quran. Maybe, If someone center their research on it, it  can help in development of more Science.

Truth of Prophet’s Night journey in Quran :

Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.— Quran, Chapter 17 (Al-Isra) verse 1

And [remember, O Muhammad], when We told you, “Indeed, your Lord has encompassed the people.” And We did not make the sight which We showed you except as a trial for the people, as was the accursed tree [mentioned] in the Qur’an. And We threaten them, but it increases them not except in great transgression.— Quran, Chapter 17 (Al-Isra) verse 60

And he certainly saw him in another descent,
At the Lote-tree of the Utmost Boundary –
Near it is the Garden of Refuge –
When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it] The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit].

Limitless in His glory is He who transported His servant by night from the Inviolable House of Worship [at Mecca] to the Remote House of Worship [at Jerusalem] – the environs of which We had blessed – so that We might show him some of Our symbols: for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-seeing

ADVANCE HEART SURGERY

The scientific analysis of the purification made by Angel Gibrael (AS) :

Angel Jibriel AS  along with two other angels visited the holy Prophet (Pbuh) one night, while he was asleep in the Hateem part of Ka’abah. The angel then operated upon his heart and made some changes probably because the material body could not withstand the space travel with the required velocity without certain protection. The related part of the narration reads;

“… Jibriel among them took upon himself to make a cut from the throat down to a part below the heart of the Prophet till he emptied the chest and the stomach. Then with his hands he washed it with Zamzam water till the stomach was cleaned. Then was brought a golden tray in which was a golden light filled with faith and wisdom. Pouring it inside, the chest and the veins of throat were filled up. Then the opened part was closed…” (Bukhari)

By incorporating the changes in the body system, his body was probably converted from material into Noorani (lightening) body to withstand the journey of space.

The modern science have developed laser procedure for painless treatment. Although they are yet to develop the advance heart surgery .

Theory of Relativity can explain Shabe Miraj

From Einstien’s theory,one person’s interval of space is not the same as another person’s, and time runs at different rates for different observers travelling at different speeds. To some extent, the faster you go, the slower you age and the slimmer you are!

The reason this is not obvious in everyday situations is that the differences at everyday speeds are infinitesimally small, and only really become apparent at speeds approaching that of light itself (“relativistic” speeds). The closer the speed of an objects approaches to the speed of light, the more warped lengths and time intervals become. See- experiments to prove the point that time is NOT universal.

The journey of meraj was just a fraction of night. Prophet Muhammad SAW mounted the Buraq, and in the company of Gabriel, they traveled to the “farthest mosque- masjid-e-Aqsa.

ABOUT BURAQ:-If someone doesn’t know about an aeroplane and he has to travelled for a month to reach a place and if someone makes him wait at an airport and tells him, wait I will be back from that place within an hour, he probably won’t believe him. But today modern science has made it all possible,

Hadiths clearly state that Burraq is a white mule-like animal. There is no mention of wings. Only earthly animals with material bodies need wings to fly against the gravitational force. The basic constituent of Burraq’s body, as the word indicates, is electrical energy, instead of the elements of earth. There is nothing unscientific about this.

The realities pertaining to the subjects which science has not covered yet cannot be termed unscientific. Science has not comprehended till date, the subject of spirits and spiritual bodies.

There are a large number of Allah’s creations that are invisible to human eyes, as human sight can only comprehend the matter and not energy. The angels and the Jinns possess non-material bodies constituted of light and heat energies.  سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَسْرَىٰ بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ

“(Glory to (Allah) Who did take His Servant for Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque whose precincts We did bless – in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the one Who heareth and seeth (all things).”-(17:1)
SCIENCE YET TO DISCOVER THE FURTHEST POINT OF UNIVERSE:SIDRAT-AL MUNTAHA-LIMIT OF KNOWN UNIVERSE

Sidrat al-Muntahā (arabic: سدرة المنتهى‎) is a Lote tree that marks the end of the seventh heaven, the boundary where no creation can pass, according to Islamic beliefs. During the Isra and Mi’raj, Muhammad SAW, being the only one allowed, travelled with Gabriel AS to the Sidrat al-Muntaha

“While he was in the highest part of the horizon: Then he approached and came closer, And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey.

The (Prophet’s) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? For indeed he saw him at a second descent. Near the Lote-tree beyond which non may pass: near it is the Garden of Abode. Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!) (His) sight never swerved nor did it go wrong! For truly did he see of the Signs of His Lord the Greatest.” (53:7-18) –

Telecommunication”Allah’s Communication with Prophets”-When People asked to describe Masjid Al Aqsa

A telecommunication is a matter of thing discovered only recently.But 1400 years ago, when Prophet Muhammad SAW on the night journey,”isra”,Some people were taken aback by the improbability of the story which the messenger of Allah SAW had to tell after such a divine exposure.

A Quraysh delegation hastened to go and question Abu Bakr ra about Prophet Muhammad pbuh and naudhubillah called him mad, but the immediate, forthright answer of Abu Bakr radi allahu anhu surprised them.He said, ”If he says such a thing, it cannot but be true!” A few weeks later, facts confirmed some elements of his account, for instance the arrival of caravans whose coming he had announced (having seen them on his way back) and of which he had given a precise description

The people asked prophet SAW if he had been to masjid-e aqsa, then he should tell them how many pillars had he seen? Now  prophet SAW wasn’t there to count the pillars, yet the people insisted that he tell them the description of Masjid -e aqsa or they won’t believe.

So Allah showed him the details “right in front of his eyes” and he described what he had seen “stone by stone, brick by brick”. The travelers confirmed his descriptions and answered every fine detail. Now with the modern advances in science, we can deliver our lectures and see an event live and reach to a million of people but it was not the same 1400 yrs back.

Incident of Isra from Quran

The Qur’an in Surah Israa, in which the advent is mentioned, indicates the state in which the Prophet (Pbuh) was carried to his journey. It says; “… And we made not the vision which we showed you, but a trial for mankind..” (17:60)
It was neither a dream nor the state of wakefulness in the material sense. The Qur’anic word for the vision is ‘Ru’ya’ which is different from a dream.

We find in one of the Hadiths describing Me’raj thus; “… They (the angels) came in such a state that the heart (of the Prophet) was seeing them. The eyes were asleep but the heart was awake. Likewise, the eyes of (all) the Prophets sleep but their hearts do not sleep..” (Bukhari; Kitab-ut-Tauhid; Narration of Abu Hurairah)

The above narration of Me’raj in Bukhari, which is a very lengthy one, ends with the following words; “..And when he (Muhammad SAW woke up, he was in Masjid-il-Haram (Ka’abah).” (Ibid).So, the material body of the Prophet (Pbuh) was in a state of sleep after the Me’raj, while during the vision his transcendental body actually visited the places and witnessed the signs of Allah. In sleep he was taken and to sleep he was returned before and after the journey. During the journey, he was not asleep. He saw and witnessed everything with a transcendental body and with eyes, which were not material. Such is the vision of Prophet SAW

Quantum Physics :When Science and theology meets

Quantum is really the point at which science and theology meet. The fact that the whole universe is pervaded by a wisdom was revealed in the Qur’an 14 centuries ago. One verse reads:

Your god is God alone, there is no god but Him. He encompasses all things in His knowledge. (Qur’an, 20:98)

As he puts it: It took humanity millennia before an Einstein discovered that, as bizarre as it may seem, the basis of matter is energy, that matter is actually condensed energy. It may take a while longer for us to discover that there is some non-thing even more fundamental than energy that forms the basis of energy, which in turn forms the basis of matter.

The matter/energy relationships, the quantum wave functions, have profound meaning. Science may be approaching the realization that the entire universe is an expression of information, wisdom, an idea, just as atoms are tangible expressions of something as ethereal as energy.

This wisdom is such an omniscient thing that it covers the whole universe: A single consciousness, a universal wisdom, pervades the universe. The discoveries of science, those that search the quantum nature of subatomic matter, have moved us to the brink of a startling realization: all  existence is the expression of this wisdom. In the laboratories we experience it as information that first physically articulated as energy and then condensed into the form of matter. Every particle, every being, from atom to human, appears to represent a level of information, of wisdom.

This means that the material universe is not a purposeless and chaotic heap of atoms, as the atheist/materialist dogma assumes, but instead is a manifestation of a wisdom that existed before the universe and that has absolute sovereignty over everything that exists.

The recent fuss about God gene

The God gene hypothesis proposes that a specific gene (VMAT2) predisposes humans towards spiritual or mystic experiences. The idea has been postulated by geneticist Dean Hamer, the director of the Gene Structure and Regulation Unit at the U.S. National Cancer Institute, and author of the 2005 book The God Gene: How Faith is Hardwired into our Genes. These recent  discoveries are already a part of Quran. Quran :surah Araf:(Ayah 172:174 )

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ ۛ شَهِدْنَا ۛ أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَافِلِينَ

 And (remember) when thy Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their reins, their seed, and made them testify of themselves, (saying): Am I not your Lord? They said: Yea, verily. We testify. (That was) lest ye should say at the Day of Resurrection: Lo! of this we were unaware.

أَوْ تَقُولُوا إِنَّمَا أَشْرَكَ آبَاؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ

Or lest ye should say: (It is) only (that) our fathers ascribed partners to Allah of old and we were (their) seed after them. Wilt Thou destroy us on account of that which those who follow falsehood did?

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Thus We detail Our revelations, that haply they may return. Al-Tabarî writes in his commentary on this verse [al-Tafsîr (6/110)]:

In this verse, Allah informs Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to take heed that his Lord brought forth all of Adam’s descendants from the loins of their fathers and made them all acknowledge His unity and testify to it. He then had them witness against each other that they made this acknowledgement and gave this testimony.

This is confirmed by the hadîth where the Prophet (peace be upon his) was asked about this verse and informed us that Adam’s progeny are brought forth and shown to Adam (peace be upon him). [Sunan al-Tirmidhî (3076 and 3368)] This was the prophet’s divine journey. The journey by night, from the Holy Mosque in Makkah to the furthest Mosque in Jerusalem, and the ascension through the heavens and into the presence of Almighty Allah was a miracle granted by Allah to His final slave and Prophet, Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon him, and one of the greatest of honors bestowed upon any human.
