Dua for easy Reckoning

Qiyamah is certain. Each and every one of us has to go through reckoning. We are answerable for whatever we do, the good and the bad.

My non-Tech Mom loves this Digital Tasbih because her counts are never lost. Alhumdulillah, Now she spends close to Four hours in dhikr everyday. Would you like to build your dhikr habit too? It’s completely free.

Allah swt says in Quran,(19:69).

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ ٧

Sometimes a short pause to remember Allah brings clarity and steadiness back into our day. These reflections are simple reminders from my own journey.

فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًۭا يَسِيرًۭا ٨.

  • As for those who are given their record in their right hand,
  • they will have an easy reckoning.

So we ask Allah swt for easy reckoning. There is a dua that Rasul Allah sallalhu alaihe wa sallam as taught us which we can read for easy reckoning. This is the Dua.

Allahumma hasibni hisaban yasira

O Allah grant me an easy reckoning.

What is easy reckoning?

Aishah(Ra) related: I once heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) supplicate during the prayer, thus: ‘O God, call me to a light reckoning’. When he brought his Prayer to a conclusion, I asked what he meant by that supplication. He replied: ‘Light reckoning means that one’s conduct book will be seen and one’s errors will be overlooked. O Aishah, the one who is called to account for his deeds on that Day, would be doomed.’

Three Qualities that can help us with easy reckoning

Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) narrated that “Whoever possesses these three qualities, Allah will make his reckoning easy and will have mercy on him by allowing him to enter the paradise:
(1) he gives to those who withhold from him,
(2) he forgives those who oppress him and
(3) he maintains ties of kinship with those who break it.” (Mustadrak Hakim Kitab at-Tafsir 2/563, Dur Al-Manthur)

Those who will be given the record in the left hand:

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَـٰبِيَهْ ٢٥

And as for those given their record in their left hand, they will cry ˹bitterly˺, “I wish I had not been given my record,

May Allah protect us and grant us Jannah. Amen.
