Day 22 – Reflecting on Allah’s Names: Al-Wajid, Al-Majid, Al-Wahid
In a world where we constantly search for meaning, wealth, recognition, and love, there is a deep truth that brings peace to the heart: Everything we need is already with Allah. He is the One who possesses all things, who is infinitely glorious, and who is completely One and unique in His existence.
Today, we reflect on three of Allah’s beautiful names that remind us of His completeness, His perfection, and His absolute oneness:
- Al-Wajid (ٱلْوَاجِدُ) – The Self-Sufficient, The Finder
- Al-Majid (ٱلْمَاجِدُ) – The Glorious, The Most Noble
- Al-Wahid (ٱلْوَاحِدُ) – The One, The Indivisible
These names remind us that Allah is never in need, yet He is the source of all provision, all honor, and all existence.

Al-Wajid (ٱلْوَاجِدُ) – The Self-Sufficient, The Finder
The name Al-Wajid comes from the root “w-j-d” (و ج د), meaning to find, to possess, to be self-sufficient. Allah is Al-Wajid—the One who lacks nothing, who possesses everything. He is not in need of anything.
وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ذُو ٱلرَّحْمَةِ ۚ
“Indeed, your Lord is the All-Sufficient, the Lord of Mercy.”
(Surah Al-An’am 6:133)
We spend our lives searching—searching for wealth, happiness, peace, and answers. But Allah is Al-Wajid, the self sufficient because He already owns and knows everything. He provides for us in ways we do not expect, and He fulfills our needs even before we realize them.He is not in need of us. We need him.Allah says,
Your Lord is the Self-Sufficient, Full of Mercy. If He wills, He can do away with you and replace you with whoever He wills, just as He produced you from the offspring of other people.Indeed, what you have been promised will certainly come to pass. And you will have no escape. So Qayamat is a reality. We should thank Allah for all his favours and worship only him.
Reflection:
- How can we trust Al-Wajid more when we feel like something is missing in our lives?
- What is one way we can shift from constantly seeking worldly things to seeking closeness to Allah?
Al-Majid (ٱلْمَاجِدُ) – The Glorious, The Most Noble
The name Al-Majid comes from the root “m-j-d” (م ج د), meaning to be glorious, to be noble, to be limitless in honor. Allah is Al-Majid—the One whose greatness has no limits, whose honor is unmatched, and whose generosity knows no bounds.
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ ١٥
فَعَّالٌۭ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ ١٦
“And He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Loving, Lord of the Glorious Throne, Doer of whatever He wills.”
(Surah Al-Buruj 85:14-16)
When we think of nobility or greatness, we often associate it with wealth, power, or status. But true glory belongs only to Allah. His majesty is beyond human imagination, yet He is near and merciful to us. Every blessing we have is a sign of Al-Majid’s generosity.
Reflection:
- How can we recognize Al-Majid’s glory in our daily lives?
- What is one way we can glorify Allah more in our actions and words today?
Al-Wahid (ٱلْوَاحِدُ) – The One, The Indivisible
The name Al-Wahid comes from the root “w-ḥ-d” (و ح د), meaning to be one, to be unique, to be without any partner. Allah is Al-Wahid—the One and only God, without any equal, partner, or rival
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ١
“Say: He is Allah, [who is] One.”
(Surah Al-Ikhlas 112:1)
In a world filled with distractions, Allah,Al-Wahid reminds us to refocus our hearts on the One who truly matters. When we rely on people or material things for happiness, we often feel disappointed. But when we depend on Al-Wahid, the One and only God, without any equal, partner, or rival. we find true contentment.
