Day 24 โ Reflecting on Allahโs Names: Al-Muqtadir, Al-Muqaddim, Al-Muโakhkhir
There are moments in life when we feel impatient, longing for things to happen sooner. Other times, we struggle to understand why things arenโt working out the way we hoped. In these moments, we must remind ourselves that Allah is Al-Muqtadir, Al-Muqaddim, and Al-Muโakhkhirโthe One who perfectly measures all things, who brings events forward or delays them with absolute wisdom.
These names remind us that nothing happens randomly. Every delay, every change in our plans, every opportunity, and every setback is part of Allahโs perfect design. There is no โtoo soonโ or โtoo lateโ with Himโeverything happens at its rightful time.
Today, we reflect on three of His names:
- Al-Muqtadir (ูฑููู ูููุชูุฏูุฑู) โ The Creator of All Power, The Perfect in Ability
- Al-Muqaddim (ูฑููู ูููุฏููู ู) โ The One Who Brings Forward
- Al-Muโakhkhir (ูฑููู ูุคูุฎููุฑู) โ The One Who Delays
Al-Muqtadir (ูฑููู ูููุชูุฏูุฑู) โ The Creator of All Power
The name Al-Muqtadir comes from the root โq-d-rโ (ู ุฏ ุฑ), meaning to have complete power, control, and mastery over all things. Allah is Al-MuqtadirโHis power is not just great; it is perfect and absolute.
โAnd He is over all things, Perfect in Ability.โ
(Surah Al-Kahf 18:45)
Nothing happens outside His control. When we feel overwhelmed by our challenges, when things seem out of our hands, we remember that they are never out of His hands. Al-Muqtadir reminds us that every hardship is under His power and that He can change our situation in the blink of an eye.

- What is one worry we can release to Al-Muqtadir, trusting that He is in control?
- How can we find peace in knowing that His power is always at work, even when we donโt see it?
Al-Muqaddim (ูฑููู ูููุฏููู ู) โ The One Who Brings Forward
The name Al-Muqaddim comes from the root โq-d-mโ (ู ุฏ ู ), meaning to move something forward or to advance it. Allah is Al-MuqaddimโHe brings forward whatever He wills, whenever He wills.
โAnd you do not will except that Allah wills.โ
(Surah Al-Insan 76:30)
Sometimes, opportunities come sooner than we expected. Sometimes, doors open before we even ask. That is Al-Muqaddim in action. He places people, events, and blessings in our lives at the perfect time. He prepares us before we even realize what we need.

- What is one blessing that came into our lives at the perfect time?
- How can we increase our trust in Allahโs timing instead of rushing or doubting His plan?
Al-Muโakhkhir (ูฑููู ูุคูุฎููุฑู) โ The One Who Delays
The name Al-Muโakhkhir comes from the root โสพ-kh-rโ (ุฃ ุฎ ุฑ), meaning to postpone, delay, or place something behind. Allah is Al-MuโakhkhirโHe delays things not to deny us, but to give them to us when they are best for us.
โAnd Allah knows, while you do not know.โ
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:216)
We often see delay as a setback, but Allah only delays what is not yet good for us. Maybe that job we wanted wasnโt right for us. Maybe that relationship would have harmed us. Maybe the success we prayed for would have come with a trial we werenโt ready for. Al-Muโakhkhir protects us by postponing things until the perfect time.
Reflection:
- What is something we once wanted immediately but later realized it was better delayed?
- How can we replace our frustration with patience, trusting that Allahโs timing is always right?
These names of Allah fill our hearts with trust and patience:
- Al-Muqtadir reassures us that nothing is beyond His powerโHe controls every aspect of our lives.
- Al-Muqaddim reminds us that whatever is meant for us will reach us, no matter what stands in the way.
- Al-Muโakhkhir teaches us that sometimes, waiting is a mercy, and delays are just Allahโs way of protecting us.
Ya Allah, You are Al-Muqtadirโgrant us strength in knowing that You are in control. You are Al-Muqaddimโbring forward what is best for us. You are Al-Muโakhkhirโgive us patience to wait for Your perfect plan.
