Abu Huraira reported:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When the Mu’adhdhin calls to prayer, Satan runs back vehemently. Sahih Muslim 389b

Jabir reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, when Satan hears the call to prayer, he flees to a very distant place.” Sahih Muslim

3.Say the Salam when entering a new house

‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar said, “When someone enters a house which is not lived in, he should say, ‘Peace be upon the righteous slaves of Allah.'” Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1055

4.When someone does not mention Allah when he enters

Jabir reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “When a man enters his house, he should Allah mention Allah Almighty, both when he enters and he eats. If he does so, Shaytan says (i.e. to the shayatin), ‘You cannot spend the night or eat.’ When he enters and does not mention Allah when he enters, Shaytan says, ‘You have got your lodgings for the night and your supper.'” Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1096

Giving The Salam When Entering The House

Narrated Anas:

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: ‘O my little son! When you enter upon your family then give the Salam, it will be a blessing for you and upon the inhabitants of your house.”Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2698

As you step into your new abode or business premises, recite the , “Assalamu Alaikum” (peace be upon you) when you meet people. This fosters a positive and harmonious atmosphere. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Spread peace amongst yourselves” (Muslim).

4.Recite Quran in House

Envelop your new space with the soothing and purifying verses of the Quran. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Read the Quran, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection” (Muslim). Begin by reciting Surah Al-Fatihah and other verses that bring tranquility to your heart.

Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, “Read the Qur’an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection.”. Riyad as-Salihin 991

5.Recite Surah Baqarah, The last two verses of Surah Baqarah

Reciting Surah Al-Baqarah, the second chapter of the Quran, is highly recommended for protection and blessings. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Read Al-Baqarah in your dwellings, for verily Satan does not enter the house where Surah Al-Baqarah is read” (Muslim). Additionally, recite the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285-286) for protection.

“Do not turn your homes into graveyards, surely the Devil flees from the house in which Surat Al-Baqarah is read,” Muslim 1/539.

The Devil is also driven out by the invocations for morning and evening, those that are said before sleeping and upon waking up, those for entering and leaving the house, including those for entering and leaving the mosque, and by many other authentic invocations taught to us by the Prophet (ﷺ) such as the reading of ‘Ayatul-Kursi, (Al-Baqarah 2:255), and the last two ‘Ayat of Surat Al-Baqarah before going to sleep.

Whoever says: “There is none worthy of worship but Allah alone, Who has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and he is Able to do all things,” one hundred times, it will be a protection for him from the Devil throughout the day.’ Hisn al-Muslim 143

6. Read Nafil Salah

Engage in voluntary prayers to seek Allah’s guidance and blessings.

Ibn ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Observe part of the [Nawafil (voluntary)] Salat (prayers) in your homes. Do not turn your homes into graves.”Riyad as-Salihin 1129

7. Give Sadaqah (Charity)

Give Sadaqah (Charity): Generosity is encouraged in Islam, and giving charity, even a small amount, can purify your wealth and attract Allah’s blessings. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Charity does not decrease wealth” (Muslim).

Include dates in your new home as they hold numerous health benefits and have been praised by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Muslim 2046

‘A’isha reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: A family which has dates will not be hungry.

9. Be satisfied

Jabir b. ‘Abdullah reported:While I was sitting in my house there happened to pass by me Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ). He made a gesture to me and I stood up for him. He took hold of my hand until we came to one of the apartments of his wives.

He entered and then asked me to get in. So I entered and there was hanging a curtain beside her. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Is there any food (with you)? They (the members of the household) said: Yes And then there were brought three loaves of bread for him (the Holy Prophet) and placed in the basket of palm leaves. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) picked up one loaf and placed that before him, and then picked up another one and placed it before me.

He then picked up the third one and broke it into two parts, and kept the one-half before him and the other half before me, and then said: Is there any condiment? They (the members of the household) said: There is nothing (in the form of condiment) but some vinegar only. He said: Bring that, for vinegar is a good condiment.

10. Invite Muslim Brothers and Sisters for Food in new house

Extend hospitality by inviting fellow Muslims to share a meal in your new space. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “O people, spread the (greeting of) Salam, feed the hungry, and pray while the people are asleep, you will enter Paradise in peace” (Tirmidhi).

Abdallah b. ‘Amr reported God’s messenger as saying, “If you worship the Compassionate One, provide food, and greet all Whom you meet, you will enter paradise in peace.” Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.  Mishkat al-Masabih 1908
