Three Lebanese Muslims accused of disrespecting Mary sentenced to memorize Surah Al-Imran

A Lebanese Christian judge ordered three young Muslim men, accused of insulting Mary ,the mother of Jesus (pbuh) to memorize a section of Surat al-Imran as a condition for their release.

Instead of handing down a prison sentence over their contempt of religion, Joceline Matta ordered the men to memorize the verses to be released.While reading out the verdict in court in Tripoli, North of Lebanon, last week, Matta noted that her decision aims to teach the young men about Islam’s tolerance and love for Virgin Mary.

“The law is a school and not just a prison,” she said.

The networking sites,  celebrated the judge through the inauguration of Hashtag named after Jocelyn_ when.

The current and former Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri and Najib Miqati, hailed the judge as tweeting on their Twitter accounts.

He described Jocelyn’s decision as a lesson to teach young people tolerance between religions, and to establish harmony and love between communities.

They called on all judges to follow suit, pointing out that discipline is better than prison in evaluating behavior
