Nicola Coughlan,Irish actress raises over €1.1million for Palestine Children’s Relief Fund
Irish actress Nicola Coughlan has raised around £1.01 million (equivalent to around $1.2 million) for the Falasteen Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) through her social media channels and outreach efforts.
According to the PCRF, Nicola Coughlan’s fundraising campaign attracted donations from 82,794 contributors, including the actress herself.
The PCRF has stated that the outpouring of global support allowed the organization to provide food, water, clothing, medical care, and other critical aid to children in the Middle East region.
The 37-year-old has been very vocal about her support for Palestine and has been spotted wearing a red ceasefire pin over the past couple of weeks.
Following the attacks on Gaza’s Rafah in May, Nicola urged her followers to help raise funds for children impacted by the violence. Her efforts have raised over $1.2million (€1.1 million).

The Galway native recently opened up about her decision to wear the ceasefire pin as part of the Artists for Ceasefire group, admitting it was important for her to do so as she sees herself as a privileged person.
The actress told USA Today: ‘I’m doing my dream job and getting to travel the world, but then I’m hyper-aware of what’s happening in Rafah at the moment.
‘My dad was in the Irish army, which is a peacekeeping force. He was a member of the UN, so my family actually lived in Jerusalem in the late 70s.
‘He was part of UNTSO, the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation, so it was about brokering peace in the Middle East,’ Nicola continued.
I feel very passionately about it. I’m Irish also, so it’s sort of a different perspective. And I just feel, if I have this global platform, which I do at the minute, I think if I can hopefully raise funds for aid organisations – I have a fundraiser on my Instagram right now for medical aid for Palestine.
