1. Benefits of reciting Quran: The Qur’an Brings Spiritual Elevation

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Indeed, Allah elevates some people with this Book and lowers others with it.”
(Sahih Muslim 817)

The Qur’an raises the status of those who hold on to it. Whether in this world or the Hereafter, those who recite and act upon the Qur’an are honored.

On the Day of Judgment

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“It will be said to the companion of the Qur’an: Recite and ascend (in ranks), and recite in a measured way as you used to recite in the world, for your rank will be at the last verse you recite.”

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

“Indeed, a house becomes spacious for its inhabitants, angels are present in it, devils leave it, and its goodness increases when the Qur’an is recited in it. On the other hand, a house becomes narrow for its inhabitants, angels leave it, devils enter it, and its goodness diminishes when the Qur’an is not recited in it.”
(Narrated by Al-Darimi, with an authentic chain)

A home where the Qur’an is recited becomes a place of tranquility, protection, and divine blessings. In contrast, a home devoid of Qur’anic recitation is susceptible to negative influences.

3. The Qur’an Provides Protection from Shaytan

Shaykh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“Reciting the Qur’an frequently and remembering Allah are among the means of driving Shaytan away and protecting oneself from his evil. It is prescribed for both men and women to have a share of Qur’anic recitation in their homes and to engage in the remembrance of Allah often, as this is a means of safety from the harm of the enemy of Allah, Shaytan.”

This is supported by the words of the Prophet ﷺ:

“Do not turn your houses into graves. Indeed, Shaytan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited.”
(Sahih Muslim 780)

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“And We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers.”
