Is music haram, Music and Islam: Read how Music is a tool of Devil

How Music is related to Selling out Soul to Devil

People wonder if Music is Haram in Islam or not.If you hunt for fatwas you will surely get some of them supporting your views. But I would like to share with you an interesting fact about Music. Recently I listened to a lecture of a former Musician, MO TO Muhammad. He talked about how Music is a tool of Devil. His interview in Deen show is available in you tube.Inspired by his talk I researched on Music and its history and here is what I found.

Music and Islam: Is music haram,Music is a tool of Devil. 5

It is rightly said that Music is a tool of Devil as the former Musician MoTo Muhammad admits that Some singers sell their soul to devil .He talked about Devil and Music-how shaitan enslaves us my making us listen to music day and night .Harsh but true,People addicted to Music go away from Allah.Let us see how? Some People simply love  listening to Music. When they become excited they listen to music and dance. When they become Sad, they listen to Music and drink.Music has invaded our lives.

Music is a tool of Devil. Music is an illusion. It makes you feel better for a second but the peace doesn’t last long.It pushes the listener to the same state and they keep listening to Music at all times to the extent that their lives begin to revolve around Music. They listen to songs on roads,in the class, while eating ,driving and even they sleep with headphones..Such is the trap of Shaitan who pushes a person away from the dhikr of Allah and hangs out with the Person every time in the name of music.

Messages of Music is Contrary to the Message of Quran;Music is a tool of Devil

On One hand Quran teaches us to be respectful to our Parents & to Obey Allah and his Messengers on the Other hand Music teaches all sorts of evil:”To make your own rules”,”Homosexuality”,”Drugs and Alcohol consumption”,”Nudity” and “illegal Sex”.

People take Music for granted. They think that “O ! it is just a Music”.But remember ! anything we hear again and again has to influence our mind. And they are filled with messages that will affect you somehow. They are filled with satanic verses and inspire to break rules and do unacceptable stuffs and sadly our children are grasping these messages fast. They are taking the Musicians as their role models and walking far away from Sunnah of the Prophet(pbuh).

Message of Quran Vs Message of Shaitan-

On One hand Quran teaches us Submission and asks us not to blindly follow our Passions and desires on the other hand shaitan asks us to do whatever we want.

From Quran :

أَرَأَيْتَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُ هَوَاهُ أَفَأَنْتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا

Have you ever seen the one who has taken his own desires as his god? Would you take the responsibility of guiding him?(Surah Furqan,43)

And from Shaitan

“Do Whatever You Want “

Music and Islam: Music is a tool of Devil

Music is a trickery of shaitan: Hadeeth that Music is Haram in Islam

1)Allaah says to Shaitan,(interpretation of the meaning):

Allaah said to Iblees: And befool them gradually those whom you can among them with your voice (i.e. songs, music, and any other call for Allaah’s disobedience)…” [al-Israa’ 17:64]

2)Narrated Abu Malik Al-Ashari:
“The Messenger (pbuh) of Allah (SWT) said, “Some people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name, merriment will be made for them through the playing of musical instruments and the singing of lady singers. Allah will cleave the earth under them and turn others into monkeys and swines.
[Ibn Ma’jah Vol.5 Hadith No.4020]

3)The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Among my ummah there will certainly be people who permit zinaa, silk, alcohol and musical instruments…” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari ta’leeqan, no. 5590; narrated as mawsool by al-Tabaraani and al-Bayhaqi. See al-Silsilah al-Saheehah by al-Albaani, 91).

4)Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: The view of the four Imaams is that all kinds of musical instruments are haraam. It was reported in Saheeh al-Bukhaari and elsewhere that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said that there would be among his ummah those who would allow zinaa, silk, alcohol and musical instruments, and he said that they would be transformed into monkeys and pigs… None of the followers of the imaams mentioned any dispute concerning the matter of music. (al-Majmoo’, 11/576).

5)Al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: The four madhhabs are agreed that all musical instruments are haraam. (al-Saheehah, 1/145).

6)Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: With regard to the view of Imaam Ahmad, his son ‘Abd-Allaah said: I asked my father about singing. He said: Singing makes hypocrisy grow in the heart; I do not like it. Then he mentioned the words of Maalik: the evildoers (faasiqs) among us do that. (Ighaathat al-Lahfaan).

7)Songs make hypocrisy grow grow in the heart just as water makes crop grow (Bayhaqi.Shu’ab al Iman)

8)Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: How strange! What type of faith, light, insight, guidance and knowledge can be gained from listening to tuneful verses and music in which most of what is said is haraam and deserves the wrath and punishment of Allaah and His Messenger? … How can anyone who has the least amount of insight and faith in his heart draw near to Allaah and increase his faith by enjoying something which is hated by Him, and He detests the one who says it and the one who accepts it? (Madaarij al-Saalikeen, 1/485)

9)Shaykh al-Islam said, discussing the state of the person who has gotten used to listening to singing: Hence you find that those who have gotten used to it and for whom it is like food and drink will never have the desire to listen to the Qur’aan or feel joy when they hear it, and they never find in listening to its verses the same feeling that they find when listening to poetry. Indeed, if they hear the Qur’aan, they hear it with an inattentive heart and talk whilst it is being recited, but if they hear whistling and clapping of hands, they lower their voices and keep still, and pay attention. People Selling Out Soul to Devil through Music: History of Music

Singer MoTo Muhammad who left Music talked about Aleister Crawley in deen Show where he asked us to Research about Aleister Crawley . He told us to  pick up some lyrics of songs. He said thay We will see that It inspires us to follow our heart and do whatever We want.

“DO WHATEVER YOU WANT” & “MAKE YOUR OWN RULES”.

Do you know where this inspiration came from? This inspiration came from the Most Wicked man on Earth:”ALEISTER CRAWLEY”.

Crowley  was a recreational drug experimenter, bisexual and an individualist social critic. Perhaps no one single person has had such widespread influence on the countercultural turns of the 20th century as Cambridge-educated occultist and inventor of the religion of Thelema, Aleister Crowley. And according to Crowley, he isn’t finished yet. “1000 years from now,” Crowley once wrote, “the world will be sitting in the sunset of Crowlianity.” The self-aggrandizing Crowley called himself “the Great Beast 666” and many other tongue-in-cheek apocalyptic titles. The British press dubbed him “The Wickedest Man in the World,” also the title of the documentary, one of a four-part BBC 4 series on famously sinister figures called “Masters of Darkness.” Crowley is perhaps most famous for his dictum “Do what thou wilt,” which, taken out of its context, seems to be a philosophy of absolute, unfettered libertinism.(Source)

He wrote a” Book of Law ” during his honeymoon and claimed  that it came from God .Crowley claims that he took dictation from an entity named Aiwass, whom he later identified as his own Holy Guardian Angel

Most people are quite aware of Aleister Crowley’s censored appearance on the cover of Sgt. Pepper among the Beatles’ other heroes. Few, though, have gone on to ask why Aleister Crowley made the cut. John Lennon made the connection clear in an interview with Playboy when he said that “The whole Beatle idea was to do what you want, right?  To take your own responsibility.” Lennon was paraphrasing “Do what thou wilt,” which is one of the central precepts of Thelema, the religion founded by Aleister Crowley. Thelema is the Greek word which means “will” and teaches that we each must discover our individual inmost nature, described as the “True Will.”

The Beatles were only the first of many counterculture rock musicians in the 1960s to openly cite Aleister Crowley as an influence. Led Zeppelin‘s guitarist Jimmy Page was very interested in Aleister Crowley and he remains a prominent Thelemite today. We have even recently learned that Frank Zappa was reading Crowley in 1968.

Apart from rock stars, who helped to popularize the writings of Aleister Crowley, we can also look at some of the people who revolutionized western culture in other, perhaps more deep and lasting ways. To start with, let’s consider where these musicians may have heard about Aleister Crowley. Perhaps the most likely candidate is Harry Smith, a Thelemite whose influence on folk and rock music cannot be overstated. Aleister Crowley also once dined with Aldous Huxley in Berlin, and the rumor goes that Crowley introduced him to peyote. Timothy Leary saw himself as continuing Crowley’s work, and said so on national television.

Crawley used Music to push his agenda. He was a satanist. The people are so unaware of the trap of Devil that they have become accustomed to smoking, gambling, drinking, dancing and being Naked.Music Industry pushes this horrible Satanic belief. The Artist grabs this philosophy and pushes it into Music. The devil would never go to People and say,”Follow me”.Devil hides behind music to Put it directly into the mind. This just make People more miserable, drug addict and prone to suicide.

You will be shocked to know that Some musician call devil as their lord and praise him instead of Allah. And they are making you do the same.

People selling their Soul to Devil

Sadly, this rise to fame mirrors many, mostly female starlets who quickly gained fame and fortune by selling their souls. Case in point, in a rather horrific interview, would-be Christian-pop superstar turned “I Kissed a Girl” singer Katy Perry said: “When I was 15, because I grew up in a household where all I ever did was listen to gospel music…. I swear I wanted to be, like, the Amy Grant of music, but it didn’t work out, and so I sold my soul to the devil.”

There are many others:

  • “The devil took me by hand.” – Bon Jovi
  • “I sold my soul to the devil” – Katy Perry
  • “Judas (Devil) is the demon I cling to.” – Lady Gaga
  • “I’m a slave for you. Dancing in the dark.” – Britney Spears
  • “Yes,I am a Devil Worshipper”-Rihana
  • “You’ve got your demons. I’ve got a few of my own.” – The Eagles
  • “First of all, we want to thank Satan.” – Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • “I sold my soul to the devil.” – Cage
  • Prayin to Satan. Satan done got me.” – Bizarre
  • “I speak for Satan, Satan, Satan. My sweet forsaken Satan, Satan.” – Jonas Brothers
  • “Rock’s always been the devil’s music.” – David Bowie
  • “I’m the devil’s advocate. We have our own worshipers.” – Frank Zappa
  • “I am possessed by all that is evil. The death of your God, I demand and sit at Lord Satan’s left hand.” – Venom
  • “I sold my soul to the devil. I’m going to hell. I’m headed to hell. I want the money, the women, the fortune, and the fame. That Means I’ll end up burning in hell scorching in flames. Satan’ll be in to see me later to see if I’m interested in being partners. Devil worshippin’, Satan music.” – Eminem

DEMON POSESSION :Satan uses these musicians

Satan uses these musicians as a medium to spread his ideology. Many artists have stated that they feel posessed at times. To name a few,

  • It’s like I’m on automatic pilot. By the time we’re halfway through the first number someone else is steering me. I’m just along for the ride. I become possessed when I get onstage.” – Angus Young
  • “When people meet me, they expect Sahsa. I’m really reserved, and nothing like Sasha. *She can do things I cannot do. Right before I performed, I raised my hand up, and it was kinda the first time that I felt something else come into me. It’s a transformation when I go on stage. I have out-of-body experiences [on stage]. If I cut my leg, if I fall, I don’t even feel it. I’m so fearless, I’m not aware of my face or my body.” – Beyonce
  • “Before the show, you gotta kind of prepare. I look in the mirror. When you get on stage, it takes over you know. I’m a complete different person. It’s like I don’t know who I am.” – B.O.B
  • “My soul is possessed by this devil my new name is Rain Man.” – Eminem
  • “I just go crazy when I go on stage … it’s like someone else takes over my body.” – Glen Tipton

STOP ENSLAVING YOURSELF TO SHAITAN

These People have sold their soul for fame.(ref)And we imitate them. How sad it is ? We have no problem when our children listen to music.Morever the youth too have grasped the concept of “Do What Thou Wilt” and so they won’t listen.Dear friends,When you listen to some thing again and agin ,it is ought to enter our Subconscious mind. You get tricked by the trickery of shaitan.Music has enslaved people.Although they think that they are being Original, but when yo look with a critical eye,you find them dressing in a certain way, talking and walking in a way they admire certain People.

A muslim don’t need to search for a role Model.Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) is a role Model for all.Instead of acquiring the sunnah of the Prophet we are pushing ourself into the deception of devil.

Life is full of Struggle but at the end you get paradise for all your struggle.Only the People who don’t know the Purpose of life, follow everything.

“Do you then wonder at this recitation (the Qur’aan)? And you laugh at it and weep not,

Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing)”[al-Najm 53:59-61]

” Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.”(35:6)May Allah guide you and Me and Protect us from Hell fire.Ameen.

May Allah guide us to what that is good and keep us away from evil.Ameen.

  • Salaam alaykum wa ramatullahi wa barakatu

While it is always said that music is haram... I wish to clarify a few things from a Muslim perspective that isn't skewed with accepting colonialism's commercialization of the ways of shaytan...

I personally do not support the musicians that brag about the affairs of this world... however, I have worked with numerous Muslim musicians who seek to create halal audio documentaries and halal recordings!

Please do not label ALL music as haram just because one has only been exposed to the music of the kuffar!

Of Course the kuffr music industry is haram, it is run by those who serve shaytan, ... that is still no excuse to label ALL music as haram, there are even permissable times to dance ( around family ) .

A healthy Muslim family can enjpy healthy Muslim music with out succumbbing to the shaytan side of things... it just takes discipline and understanding...

Either way I do not disagree with those who have cut music completely out of there lives either.

  • Thank you for the straight education .
What is safest is to avoid what is colored , what is doubtful or at the risk of choice.

  • Aleister Crowley is so misunderstood.

'Do what thou wilt' also includes converting to Islam, and living a life of piety. If that's what you want to do, do it!

One of his books 'Diary of a Drug Fiend' covers this in more detail. In it, he gives the example of someone who takes his teachings out of context, and becomes a drug addict, after which Crowley questions whether that was what they really wanted.

Amusingly, this article actually quotes another, which says:

'Crowley is perhaps most famous for his dictum “Do what thou wilt,” which, taken out of its context, seems to be a philosophy of absolute, unfettered libertinism.'

It appears someone should read their sources a little more closely. :)
