Quran notes Surah Nasr:
Why is it named surah Nasr? | Surah Nasr takes its name from the word occurring in the first verse-nasr. |
Period of revelation | Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas radi allahu anhu states that this is the last Surah of the Quran to be revealed, i. e. no complete Surah was sent down to the Holy Prophet after it. (Muslim Nasai, Tabarani, Ibn Abi Shaibah, Ibn Marduyah) |
Importance | Ibn Abbas says that when this Surah was revealed, Rasul Allah Muhammad sallalahu alaihe wa sallam said that he had been informed of his death and his time had approached. (Musnad Ahmad, Ibn Jarir, Ibn al-Mundhir, Ibn Marduyah). |
(110:1) When the help comes from Allah, and victory (is granted),
(110:2) and you see people entering Allah’s religion in multitudes,
(110:3) then extol the praise of your Lord and pray to Him for forgiveness. For He indeed is ever disposed to accept repentance.
According to Hadrat Abdullah bin Masud, when this Surah was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (upon whom be peace) frequently began to recite the words .(Ibn Jarir, Musnad Ahmad, Ibn Abi Hatim).Subhanak-Allahumma wa bi-hamdika, Allahumm-aghfirli, subhanaka Rabbana wa bi-hamdika, Allahumm-aghfirli, innaka anta at- Tawwab al-Ghafur
